I get it, but I disagree.  Every vote should be counted and especially those in FL.  They shouldn’t be left off the hook because their legislature decided to shrink the number of voting days… they should pay for the count and recount if necessary.  Every vote needs to be counted.
Side note:  How does it feel Dick to be proven full of shit?  Per your own comments, it’s time for you to retire.

Someone is having a sad. And that someone is Cristiano Ronaldo. It makes sense - Portugal lost to Spain on penalties on Wednesday afternoon and was eliminated from Euro 2012. If you’re a Spain fan, it means your team is now in the final and must wait for the winner of Italy vs. Germany to find out the next team.

Sad Cristiano… I bet the Ukrainian men are celebrating hard tonight!

In case you were wondering, here’s how infamous Iran-infrastructure-damaging bug Stuxnet worked. And to answer your question, the U.S. was involved in what was intended as an act of cyberwar … but the virus (which only got its name after it broke out online) was never intended it to break out onto the larger Internet. But Stuxnet, which broke out in 2010, is old news. A newer virus, Flame, is currently causing major online trauma in the Middle East.

I’m fascinated by nation-state cyber warfare…. in the matter of minutes you can bring down a financial network, a defense system or even a power grid.   But how do nations hit by this type of attack, respond?
Unlikely anyone but China, Russia, UK, and a handful more could respond with a counter cyber attack - the more likely strike back would be with brute force.
Modern warfare may never start again with the bombs but with IP.

San Francisco has the best city park system in the United States along with Sacramento, Boston and New York, according to a ranking of the 40 best systems across the country.
Cities on the east and west coasts dominated the top 10. Parks in the west coast communities of Portland, Seattle and San Diego made the cut. The east coast’s Virginia Beach and Philadelphia also ranked high on the list.
The rating system looked at the percentage of residents living within a 10-minute walk of a park, the proportion of local land dedicated to parks, and the number of playgrounds and spending per capita on systems.
Southern cities dominated the 10 park systems with the lowest scores. Charlotte came in after Fresno, followed by Louisville, Kentucky. Jacksonville and Memphis also scored low marks.

Chicago Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa has been taken off the ice on a stretcher after being hit by Phoenix’s Raffi Torres in the first period of Game 3 of their opening-round playoff series on Tuesday night.

Hossa was near the boards at centre ice and had just turned and passed the puck when Torres left his skates and delivered a late shot with his shoulder that knocked Hossa to the ice. Hossa was down for about five minutes as medical personnel rushed immediately to his side, and then was taken off of the ice.

NHL hockey seems to be amplified this year and it’s not just a result of social media but hits like the one described here are increasing.   Increasingly the NHL is not disciplining players appropriately for inappropriate hits, sucker punches and purposeful head shots.

Take the Shea Weber hit of Henrik Zetterberg’s head which resulted in only a fine and no suspension for “roughing”.  NHL get your shit together…

The company that sells “pink slime” insists that the meat mixture is good for kids, but parents aren’t buying it.

In less than a week, Houston food columnist and mother Bettina Siegel collected 200,000 petition signatures, mostly of parents, who object to the meat mixture being served to children. She plans to present the petition to the USDA.
“The volume of signatures it’s received in such a short time clearly shows that parents just don’t want this stuff in their kids’ school food,” Siegel said. “But there’s also been a more general outcry among all consumers about the fact that this substance can be put into ground beef without any labeling of that fact.”

Be a smart consumer - know your butcher- know where your food comes from before ingesting it.

President Obama once said he wants everybody in America to go to college. What a snob. There are good, decent men and women who go out and work hard everyday and put their skills to test that aren’t taught by some liberal college professor that [tries] to indoctrinate them.

Republican presidential candidate RICK SANTORUM, on Sunday’s Meet The Press.

No seriously.  This guy is a fucking dick.

G.M. Reports Its Largest Annual Profit »

joshsternberg:

As GM goes, so does America? Maybe.

General Motors reported the largest annual profit in its history on Thursday, even as losses in Europe dragged down fourth-quarter earnings.

G.M. said it earned a quarterly profit of $472 million, or 28 cents a share, down from $510 million, or 31 cents a share, a year ago. It was the eighth-consecutive quarterly profit for the carmaker, but also the smallest during that stretch.

For all of 2011, G.M. earned $7.6 billion, nearly all of it from North America. That was more than G.M.’s previous record of $6.7 billion in 1997.

The government still owns 26 percent of G.M., but the Obama administration has delayed plans to sell those shares in the hopes of recovering a larger percentage of its investment as the share price increases.”

Tell me again who’s going to be a better business man 2012-2016?

A buried and forgotten fiber-optic network could provide broadband speeds more than 2,500 times faster than the fastest broadband currently available in New York City. The unused cable, called “dark fiber” is being snapped up by Google, who could become an nationwide ISP overnight.

Google has been buying up dark fiber across the country in recent years and plans to launch an “ultra-fast” fiber optic-based Internet service in Kansas City, Mo., later this year that will deliver speeds of around 1 gigabit per second. That’s fast enough to download, say, the high-definition version of “Moneyball” from iTunes in about 30 seconds.

I would DROP TimeWarner Cable faster than Herman Cain’s pants at a Pizza junket… provided Google won’t monitor every click to better market to me…
